Summary

Midoriya inherits the superpower of the world’s greatest hero, but greatness won’t come easy。

What would the world be like if 80 percent of the population manifested superpowers called “Quirks”? Heroes and villains would be battling it out everywhere! Being a hero would mean learning to use your power, but where would you go to study? The Hero Academy of course! But what would you do if you were one of the 20 percent who were born Quirkless?

A new and sinister enemy appears in the form of Chisaki Kai, the young leader of the Hassaikai yakuza gang。 Looking to fill the power vacuum left by All For One, Chisaki makes contact with the League of Villains to gain possible support。 When a chance run-in with a scared little girl brings Midoriya and his mentor Mirio face-to-face with Chisaki, none of them have any idea how much their lives are about to change…

Solid volume, just not a highlight one。 The threat of quirk cancelling drug is a serious one and both pro heroes and students need to rise to stop it。 There's some cunning planning, some action and some background for Nighteye too, all well done。 Kirishima gets a moment in spotlight which was okay, I don't have much of an opinion of him but it's nice that different students are shown to develop and learn。The next volume should be interesting, as they are putting the plan in action。 Solid volume, just not a highlight one。 The threat of quirk cancelling drug is a serious one and both pro heroes and students need to rise to stop it。 There's some cunning planning, some action and some background for Nighteye too, all well done。 Kirishima gets a moment in spotlight which was okay, I don't have much of an opinion of him but it's nice that different students are shown to develop and learn。The next volume should be interesting, as they are putting the plan in action。 。。。more

This volume felt like it was going at a slow pace but it was still enjoyable to read their plans to save Eri。

"This world is not so accommodating that you can act the hero because you feel like it。"Midoriya learns some hard truths about being a hero, two villainous organizations form an alliance and a dangerous new drug with the power to damage Quirks (at least temporarily) enters the scene。 "This world is not so accommodating that you can act the hero because you feel like it。"Midoriya learns some hard truths about being a hero, two villainous organizations form an alliance and a dangerous new drug with the power to damage Quirks (at least temporarily) enters the scene。 。。。more

I took a break a bit in the middle of this one because the new arc is getting my attention like the past ones but it still has a very strong beginning and end。

(4。5⭐️) MHA is back on track! The last two volumes haven’t been my favorite, but this one definitely raised the stakes。 I’m pretty excited to see where the next one is going to go。 The new characters that got introduced were interesting, especially Eri (she just needs a serious hug)。 I do have some high hopes for the volume 16, but knowing Horikoshi it’s probably going to be awesome!

Pilos

Kirishima was the damn main character in this one。 Gotta admit he kinda scared me a little bit but we got a great display of his potential。 Nice break for the now too Bakugou/Deku tight sided story。

As a Bakugo stan I thought this vol。 could use more Bakugo

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I've got strong emotions about this volume。 The more I read the closer I get to the stuff that's absolutely going to break my heart because I'm so emotionally invested in this series and all of the characters。I'm just gonna word vomit in order of stuff that happened and my thoughts on it。Volume 15 starts off with an introduction to Eri as Overhaul is trying to bring her back into his hold。 I don't have much to say on this part other than how desperate Mirio was to get Midoriya to back off so the I've got strong emotions about this volume。 The more I read the closer I get to the stuff that's absolutely going to break my heart because I'm so emotionally invested in this series and all of the characters。I'm just gonna word vomit in order of stuff that happened and my thoughts on it。Volume 15 starts off with an introduction to Eri as Overhaul is trying to bring her back into his hold。 I don't have much to say on this part other than how desperate Mirio was to get Midoriya to back off so the situation didn't escalate。 Also Mirio's quick thinking on pushing Midoriya's ugly mask over his face was an extremely smart move not that Overhaul doesn't know his face from meeting with Shiggy。My favorite part of this was the All Might slander。 I love All Might dearly but this man is a terrible mentor and sometimes not the best role model。 Were talking about a man who doesn't understand when to stop pushing himself to the limits even if it means killing himself, literally almost sent the finishing blow to Midoriya's dreams in the beginning, and told him absolutely nothing on what he was getting himself into。 Plus he often doesn't like when Midoriya shows emotions in the high stress environment he's in which is why when Todoroki said heros should cry sometimes it made me so fucking happy。Going back to the All Might slander in this particular volume, Midoriya having the guts to call out All Might on his shitty behavior was unexpected but very welcomed。 He has a right to the information that was withheld from him, the very power given to him but a target on his back forever without him originally knowing。 Also imagine just then finding out your mentor was destined to die either that year or the next, like fuck, let's add more trauma to the children soldiers we've made。 If Midoriya was looking for a reason to become a villian, I think he's got a couple and I wouldn't hold it against him。 The world of heros has been failing many people for years and thats the main reason we have so many villians and fucked up kids。Seeing Ochako, Asui, Nejire, Tamaki, and Kirishima in battle made me so fricken happy, especially the girls because they all get less important roles throughout the series (You know, because male writers tend to write girls terribly and often just make them either very side characters or the main characters love interest)I didn't expect Ochako and Asui to be partnered together but remembering how they were there for each other during the kamino raid reminds me that they are good for each other。 I adore seeing their friendship deepening and them growing stronger together。Tamaki and Kirishima with Fatgum is my absolute favorite。 The energy that both Kirishima and Fatgum have together and the fact that they are constantly trying to encourage Tamaki when he gets depressed about not being good enough。 Also god damn are Tamaki and Kirishima total badasses。 (Unrelatedish, when Tamaki was yelled at by the villian he helped catch was both hilarious and sad, the way he faced the wall)Rocklock was finally introduced and I dont know how I'm feeling about him just yet。 He has the right idea in thinking kids should not be on this very dangerous mission but he's going the wrong way about saying it。Lastly Aizawa was so caring and absolutely cute in the meeting chapters。 The way that he understood that this was something Midoriya needed to do and that he gave a choice to the others to have lesser roles in order to protect themselves。 Also the way he squats to be eye level with kids he talks to and the way he called him problem child made me wanna cry。 Aizawa is so fucking soft when it comes to kids, especially 1A, Eri, and Shinsou and it warms my fucking heart。 I know he deep down doesn't want to see Oburos death once again with one of these kids。I'm stuck between looking forward to whats next and absolutely dreading it because I'm not ready for whats about to happen。 。。。more

Love the anime。 Love revisiting the stories and characters in the manga while also enjoying some author notes。 (Yes, I know the manga came first, but the anime is how I was introduced to MHA, so I like watching first and reading second。)

FatGum and SunEater!!! That's it。 They made this volume for me, and Kirishima of course。 These three are a dream team, so well balanced, so cute together。 Kirishima encouraging Tamaki, and Tamaki recognizing Kirishima's strength, perfection。 And FatGum is just the most wholesome proheroe I have seen until now。 Can we have more of them together? And don't forget how brave was Kirishima when he asked (almost begged) Tamaki to introduced him to FatGum。 He wanted something and he went to go get it。A FatGum and SunEater!!!
